Real Weight Loss Journey: Sustaining Success

Once weighing over 250 pounds, I often fantasized about being slimmer. I firmly believed that if I ever lost the weight, I would never gain it back. This belief was like a sacred vow to me, repeated in hushed tones as if it were a distant dream.

But then, the dream became a reality. Over 18 months, I lost a significant amount of weight and achieved my goal. That once silent prayer now demanded fulfillment – I had promised myself, and perhaps even to a higher power, to maintain this new size.

During my weight loss journey, I recall a conversation with a fellow client of my health coach, who had already conquered her weight loss battle. She warned me that maintaining weight loss was more challenging than losing it. I was skeptical at first, unable to imagine anything more difficult than the demanding routines I had established.

However, life after reaching the summit of Mount PoundsLost-a-manjaro was not as straightforward as I anticipated. The discipline I had developed began to waver, and I found myself in a cycle of losing and regaining weight. The reality of this struggle hit me hard, especially during the festive season, leading to a significant weight gain.

My initial promise was based on a misconception. I thought the joys of weight loss, like shopping in regular size sections and receiving admiring glances, would overshadow the hard work required. Yet, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is an ongoing effort, almost like a second job that rewards sporadically.

Despite the challenges and my recent setback, I am determined to remain a success story. Success is not a one-time achievement but a daily responsibility.
